Building Home Libraries
Action for Early Learning has distributed more than 25,000 books to West Philadelphia families through the AFEL Book Depot Program in businesses along Lancaster Avenue and the AFEL Read2Succeed Book Clubs
Reading Recyled
In October 2020, 5 Sidewalk Libraries were installed throughout the Promise Neighborhood as part of the Promise Neighborhood and Action for Learning Literacy Day Festivals. These libraries create public spaces for children to fall in love with reading and ensure all children have access to books. Feel free to grab a book if you see one!
